we aren't gonna tell you how to live your life, but there are right ways and wrong ways to do things...down below are a few friendly suggestions of how to prep and spruce up your little friends. but, to be honest, we also want you to play around, to see what tickles your fancy. don't be afraid to get jiggy with it!
always cook from frozen!
*place desired amount of dumplings one by one in boiling water*
*give a little stir and continue to stir occasionally throughout cooking
to prevent dumplings from sticking to the pot or each other *
*watch for the dumplings to float then cook for another minute or two*
*scoop out of the water with a slotted spoon and enjoy*
always cook from frozen!
*place about 1 tablespoon of oil of choice in a non stick pan
on medium/high heat, moving it to coat pan*
*take dumplings one by one and place upright on oiled pan,
do not flip the dumplings in this method of frying*
*when you hear sizzling and see them browning,
add about 3/4 cup of water (for approx. 6-10 dumplings)*
*cover with lid and allow water to steam dumplings*
*once all the water has evaporated, transfer to plate or bowl and enjoy!*
ADDED YUMMINESS: mix one teaspoon of flour into the water before pouring
over dumplings to create a exxxtra crispy bottom
dress 'em up
*olive oil*
*italian herbs and spices (fresh herbs if you can)*
*crema or sour cream or cream cheese*
*marinara sauce*
ingredients: flour, pork, onion, garlic, salt, sugar + spice (contains - wheat)
there is no doubt in our minds that with a few dumplings in your mouth, no matter where and in what circumstance you are, you'll get that warm happy saliva induced feeling, the kind of moment where you start making uncontrollable sounds of delight.
it’s more of making love to food than eating. it gets a little messy sometimes, but, we like that. and let's be honest, sometimes it’s good old dirty fun - stuffing your face. food is good and dumplings as food is even better.
so grab a bag, stash it in your freezer, eat it tonight, or tomorrow, or on that intoxicated moment after a few too many.
but whatever you do, don't eat it frozen.
